Latest update on the league.
The blazing Suns (John) fought the Chinese Federation (Ian). "As quoted from the Japanese commander, A divine wind blew and the noble forces of the Empress of Nippon secured the victory with a devastating quadruple crit on a Chinese support carrier"

Dystopian League Newsletter
We had one battle this week. The Prussians (Aaron) fought the Federated States of America (John). The battle started with the Prussian frigates pushing right up and survived being shot at by destroyers and bombed by dive bombers, but sunk an American destroyer. The American Cruisers then engaged the Prussian Light Cruisers and dealt some damage, but suffered heavy damage in reply from the Light Cruisers and the Battlecruiser. Meanwhile both battleships scratch each others paint work. Then disaster struck the Prussian battleship as it suffers a critical hit and its main gun’s are damaged and the crew are not able to repair them for the rest of the battle. In reply, the Prussian Cruisers sink two of the American Cruisers and take the third as a prize, while the Prussian fighters shoot down a squadron of American dive bombers. The Prussian Battlecruiser then suffers a double critical hit and is left on fire by the American Battleship. The Prussian dive bombers then hit and sink an American destroyer completing the Prussian mission. The American’s then have one last desperate dive bomb attack on the Prussian Battleship which survives the attack to give the Prussian victory.

We had one battle this week. The Prussian Empire (Aaron) fought the French (Shay). The Prussians started with their fleet on their right side as this was the largest channel. The French had their carrier and Toulon Cruiser on their left behind an island, their destroyers in the middle and other cruisers on the right. With five Islands on the board, there was extensive cover for the ships. The Prussian Frigates started the advance and shot down a French spotter plane. The French Destroyers at range sank two of the Prussian Frigates; the other two would be sunk by the French Carrier coming around the other way. The Toulon cruiser then came around the island and its shot scratched one of the Prussian Light Cruiser. It then received the attention of the Prussian Battlecruiser and Battleship and was sunk. The French then brought up their Cruisers and fired some long range shots. The Prussian Battlecruiser then sailed close to the French Carrier and hit it with a double critical, while gunning down dive bombers. The Carrier’s reply was a limp set of shots as one of the criticals had affected the main guns. The French Destroyers came racing around to shoot at the Battlecruiser, but in their haste one collided with another sinking it. Without the extra firepower they did not cause enough damage to hurt the Battlecruiser. The Prussian Battleship tried to get close to the carrier as well, but could not shot due to the island. Instead it did a long range shot at the French cruisers causing a double critical on one of them. The damaged cruiser was then finished off by the Prussian light cruisers that came around the island in the middle. They then sent their marines to capture the two remaining Destroyers. Once done they scuttled the ships and returned to the Light Cruisers. The Prussian Battlecruiser then faced waves of Dive Bombers and Torpedo Bombers. It was able to survive thanks to its combat patrol of fighters, and then launched an assault with its marines on to the carrier. Half its marines died to AA fire and the rest got butchered by the carriers crew. The Battlecruiser then was hit by torpedo’s and cannon fire from the French Cruisers and sank below the waves. The last act of the game then began, the Prussian Battleship then sailed up to the carrier its guns damaging the French Cruisers while its marines assaulted the carrier. With the casualties caused from Tesla fire and the Battlecruisers marines, the Carrier was quickly taken and the French commodore taken prisoner. Victory for the Prussians (mission was to capture/kill the commodore).

This week we had a couple of battles in the league. First up, the longest rivalry in the Dystopian Wars was continued with the Prussians (Aaron) taking on the Empire of the Blazing Sun (John). The Blazing Sun’s started with an aggressive move by bring their frigates in close to the Prussian Frigates destroying two of them in the first shots. The Blazing sun frigates did not have it all their own way as the Prussian Frigates sunk one and damaged one while the Prussian light cruisers sunk another three, but had the humiliation of failing to board on of them as the assault force was cut down by Ack Ack fire. Meanwhile the Blazing sun Terror ship sailed towards the Prussians firing away damaging the Light cruisers. The Prussian Battle cruiser was able to scratch the Blazing Sun Battleship, but in return the Battleship caused a double critical hit on the Battle cruiser, which would eventually be finished off by the Battleship after receiving another scratch from the Battle cruiser. The Blazing Sun Battleship was then hit by Dive Bombers which caused a critical and hit by the Prussian Battleship. After repeated pounding by the Blazing Suns Terror ship and frigates, the light Cruisers were sunk, and the last Prussian frigate hit an island and sunk. After this the Terror ship closed on the Prussian Battleship and sprayed it with its flame thrower. By this time the Prussian Battleship was the last Prussian ship left of the fleet and the Blazing Suns had still not completed their mission. In desperation the Prussian ship, using its Tesla Generator, is able to sail around the Terror ship. It fires its guns at point blank at the Terror ship, missing, and then launches its Marines at the crippled Blazing Suns Battleship. Sabotaging the ship, the Prussian Marines retreat and Blazing Suns Battleship is sunk, completing the Prussian Mission. The Prussian Battleship then has to survive the rest of the Blazing Suns ship’s trying to sink it. The Ship survives with no marines and 1 Hull point left to win the game. The Blazing Suns mission had been to sink the large ships.
The other battle was between the Chinese (Ian) and the Prussians (Felix). The battle started with the Chinese Frigates being mugged by the Prussian Frigates, but with casualties on both sides. After blocking the Battleship and Battle cruiser, the Prussian Light Cruisers charge up into the middle of the Chinese fleet and after receiving fire from the Chinese Battleship, Support Carriers and Dive Bombers, are sunk. The Prussian Battle Cruiser and Battleship move up and after sinking some cruisers badly damaged a carrier, which would then sink due to the damage caused by corrosion. The battle then ended as a draw with the Chinese ten points off winning and the Prussians one small ship off victory.

We had one battle this week. The Prussians (Aaron) fought the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth (Ian). This is the first time we have seen the Poles in action. The Battle started poorly for the Prussians, the frigates tried to board a Polish gunship and the boarding party was decimated by the Ack Ack, then the Battlecruiser, linking it’s primary guns failed to do any damage to the other Gunship. Meanwhile the Prussian frigates had been nearly destroyed and the Battlecruiser and Battleship had been damaged. The Polish cruisers did suffer heavy damage from the Prussian Battleship. The Prussian battleship, on fire and with heavy damaged managed to board a gunship and make it a derelict, while it was able to sink a Cruiser with it’s guns. The Prussian Dive bombers then hit a Polish Gunship nearly sinking it. Then the Prussian Battleship was hit by dive bombers and the Polish Frigates and was sunk along with the Battlecruiser. The Polish had now completed there mission. For the Prussian to complete their mission the Light cruisers had to sink a crippled cruiser and successfully board the remaining Gunship. Unfortunately the shells bounced off the cruiser and the Polish won a complete victory.

Hi Guys,
At the weekend we had the Dystopian Wars Munster Championship at conclave. We had seven players and the umpire, and it was decided to have two longer rounds so we could get results, rather than three shorter ones.
I took my Prussian fleet which had a Battleship, Metzger Robot, Battlecruiser, 3 light cruisers, 2 Geier Bombers, and 8 Frigates in two squadrons of four.
My first battle was against Eoin from Cork, and he was running a Britiannia fleet. The battle started off well as my frigates jumped his corvettes and the Prussians acted very aggressively. But the Brits regroup and hung back, the dice changed sides and the damaged mounted for the Prussians as the Battlecruiser was sunk and the Battleship took damage. As a last chance the Metzger charged into the British battleship, hit with its guns, but missed in close combat which could have sunk the ship. The Prussian Battleship was then sunk and the Brits won.
My second battle was against Antarctica, run by the Umpire (Mark). The battle swung in round abouts, my Robot, Battleship and Battlecruiser advanced towards the enemy Battleship, using an island as cover. They managed to engage and sink the ship, while one squadron of frigates came around behind the Antarcticans. Meanwhile the Light cruisers were destroyed by the Antarctian cruisers and frigates and swung round to sink the battlecruiser. However one of the cruisers hit a derelict light cruiser, which caused a critical hit locking its movement straight ahead. In the final act of the game the five Antarctian frigates lined up in close formation to attack the Robot, which caused a scratch, the robot then turned and ran through the frigates to attack the cruisers. The resulting Ram and collisions caused all five frigates to sink, resulting in victory for the Prussians.
Both battles I found quite enjoyable and everyone seem to have fun at the tournament.
Ian (Chinese Federation) was crowned the winner with Shay (France) and Seamus (Russian) close behind.

Finals of the League.
With Ian and Shay 4th equal and their only battle a draw, we had a 4th playoff between them which Ian as the Chinese Federation won to go on to fight Aaron with his Prussians in the Second semi final. The first Semi final was fought between the Indian Raj (Chris) and the Empire of the Blazing Sun (John). This was won by John. Unfortunately no unbias reporter was there to write up about it.
So the second semi final was fought between Prussia (Aaron) and Chinese Federation (Ian). The Prussians had lots of islands to hid behind and the Chinese were out in the open. The Prussians tried to engage in close combat. In the initial shots the Prussian managed to sink a Chinese cruiser, but then the casualties started to mount. The Prussian Frigates were all destroyed, two of the three Light cruisers and the battle cruiser. The battle looked to be going the Chinese way, but the damage to the Chinese battleship started to mount and eventually the Geier bombers hit it and sunk the battleship with the commodore, disordering a third of the fleet. At this time the Prussian battlerobot ran through the Chinese flamethrower ships sinking three of the four. The battle now swung in favour of the Prussians. As victory was in sight, the Chinese battlecruiser fired at the Prussian battleship and scored a critical hit on the Ammo. The Battleship had been damaged before but not seriously, with the explosion, the battleship was destroyed and the battlerobot damaged. The Chinese were now in control and with sinking the last light cruiser, they had completed there mission. The Prussians could still complete their’s as they had sunk the Commodore and needed 50%. The Battle Robot charged from the island into a Medium Carrier, it shot the carrier up, but failed to hit it. Therefore failing to destroy the carrier. Victory to the Chinese and a Blazing sun versus Chinese Federation final.
With the Commodore kill in the Semi final, the Prussians secure the most commodores killed in the competition.
