Hey all, I (Shane Doherty) will be running a demo game of the iron kingdoms rpg, the setting that WARMACHINE was based off of. There's no set date yet as some people may be available while others aren't but if possible would be taking place on a sunday.
THE GAME
Being the game that WARMACHINE was created from, its system is similar to WARMACHINES system, using the same stats and abilities, anyone who is familiar with WARMACHINE will feel comfortable in the Iron Kingdoms. for this demo game, the readily available quick start rules will be used, so don't expect anything too complicated for newer players. These rules accommodate for 4 set player characters, so the game will done in groups of 4 people at a time, if there's a 5th, 6th or even 7th person, i'd be more than happy to run the game a second time.
Along with this, don't expect the game to be serious, considering the setting and characters, you're just as likely to run past your companion as you are to run over them.
THE SETTING
The game is set in the titular Iron Kingdoms of Western Immoren, a land where the elves are bearded, the dwarves are shaved and the trolls are more civilized than you. The quick start rules see the player as one of four members of a lesser known organisation of mercenaries, the tough Gardek, the shady alchemist Milo, the warjack commanding leader Colbie and the blonde arcanist Eilish all come together under the name "Black River Irregulars", one day you're company is asked by the leader of the guard to save his family, in return he'll make you fully-fledged mercenaries. An offer you cant refuse, right?
