Conclave 2013 40K Rules Pack
Army rosters
You can only create one army roster for the Tournament and it must be used for all of the games you play.
The army roster must:
Include your name, be clear and readable and it must present each unit separately including a full list of its items and relative point costs.
Army rosters should be submitted before the 7th of June to [kram.yenevaek@gmail.com]
All tournament army rosters will be thoroughly checked. If you have any concerns about an opponent’s roster please contact a judge who will attempt to resolve the issue. If any errors are found, even if the mistake you made was an honest one, the appropriate penalties for an illegal army list will be applied. Should you have any questions or queries regarding any aspect of the tournament, please do not hesitate to contact me at:

Pre-submission
Players who submit their army rosters before the 7th of June will receive a bonus 10 points
Painting Score: Players who follow the painting guidelines will receive an additional 5 points (see Armies section below)
1 Tournament rules & Restrictions
No more than 1,850 points may be spent on the army using one standard Force Organization chart and the rules for Allies on pages 112 -113 or the Rules Book.
You may include a single 'Aegis Defense Line' or ‘Imperial Bastion’ in your army. It must be deployed inside your deployment zone after sides have been chosen and before Objectives have been placed or warlord traits rolled for, You may not place any piece in or on any existing piece of terrain.
A Note on homemade or Converted Defense Fortifications: In the interest of fairness, the total length/width must not be greater than the GW original and its height, for line of sight purposes, will "count as" the same as the GW original. I state this so no one is trying to hide a manticore behind an ADLine.
However you may discuss the latter with your opponent as 'line of sight' works both ways. No other Fortifications may be taken.
Psychic powers: Write down on your list what Discipline or Codex Power(s) you're using on your army list. You must now use the selected powers/disciplines in each game.
If you have selected a Discipline from the rulebook then you will have to roll for your powers on that table before each game.
If there are characters that are allowed to take 1 Codex Power & 1 Discipline roll, the power is then fixed and the Discipline roll is done at the start of each game. Note that the character is not allowed to swap between taking 2 powers and/or 2 rolls instead.
The dogfighting rules will not be used however Storm Ravens may be taken according to the skies of blood and the Storm Talon’s amended points will be used.
Armies
Armies must follow the restrictions on army selection in their own Codex/Codices.
Armies may be built from codices released before the 15th May 2013.
Armies should be Fully painted to a 3 colour minimum standard. All models in the army should be based. Each squad should also be readily identifiable from one another (allowances will be made for units that divide(e.g. Combat squads) or spawn(e.g gaunts from a Tervigon). If you are worried about there being any confusion as to whether or not your models are appropriately painted, based or identifiable, please do not hesitate to contact.
Weapons, wargear options and upgrades chosen from the army list should be shown on the majority of the models in a unit.
Conversions must be identifiable. If you are in any doubt about the validity of your conversion please contact the Tournament organizers.
When multiple versions of a rule or Codex exist use the most recent version, as long as it was published before the 22th February 2013.
The Question & Answer articles that have been published to update the rulebook and existing codices to 6th Edition are used.
Judges set up the scenery for the battle and it must not be moved or changed by players.
If the scenery needs changing, e.g you’re playing on the same table for two successive games call one of the Judges to assist.
Rules from Imperial Armour and Apocalypse are not allowed, however you may use appropriate models to represent models with rules in allowed codices. (E.g you may not use a chaplain dreadnought in your army but you may use the model to represent say a Venerable/Normal/Ironclad/Librarian dreadnought with appropriate weapons as above)
2 Playing the Tournament
Opponents are allocated randomly in the first round and from then on using the Swiss system
2.1 Scenario details:
Game one:
DAWN OF WAR Deployment
Primary Objective: Purge The Alien
Secondary Objective: Slay the Warlord, First Blood, Nemesis (see end of rulespack), Linebreaker.
And VPs gained with the Warlord Personal Trait "Legendary Fighter" if rolled.
Game two:
VANGUARD STRIKE Deployment
Primary Objectives: Crusade (5 objectives) One objective is placed in the center of each table quarter and one in the centre of the table.
Secondary Objectives: Slay the Warlord, First Blood, Nemesis (see end of rulespack), Linebreaker.
And VPs gained with the Warlord Personal Trait "Legendary Fighter" if rolled.
Game three:
VANGUARD STRIKE Deployment
Primary Objective: The Relic
Secondary Objective: Slay the Warlord, First Blood, Nemesis (see end of rulespack), Linebreaker.
And VPs gained with the Warlord Personal Trait "Legendary Fighter" if rolled
Game four:
DAWN OF WAR Deployment
Primary Objectives: Purge The Alien
Secondary Objectives: Slay the Warlord, First Blood, Nemesis(see end of rulespack), Linebreaker.
And VPs gained with the Warlord Personal Trait “Legendary Fighter" if rolled.
Game Five:
HAMMER AND ANVIL Deployment
Primary Objective: Big Guns Never Tire (3 Objectives) Placed 12 inches apart and 12 inches from the board edge along the center of the board between the two deployment zones.
Secondary Objective:Slay the Warlord, First Blood, Nemesis (see end of rulespack), Linebreaker.
and VPs gained with the Warlord Personal Trait "Legendary Fighter" if rolled.
Capturing objectives:
To capture an objective you must measure from the edge of the base of the objective.
Working out your result:
1. Winning the “Primary objective” is worth 8 Battle points
A draw is worth 4 Battle points to each player
2. Winning the Secondary Objective is worth up to a Maximum of 6 Battle points.
Calculating “Secondary Objective”:
For the Secondary Objective mission both players starts with 3 Battle points each. For every Victory Point more than his opponent a player has at the end of the game, the player adds one
BP, and his opponent subtracts one BP, up to a maximum of +3 / -3 BPs,
for example:
a draw on VPs is +0/-0 = as score of 3/3
a win of +1VP is +1/-1 = 4/2
a win of +2VPs is +2/-2 = 5/1
a win of +3VPs is +3/-3 = 6/0
3. Then compute Army Points (APs) difference. The player having the AP difference in his favour gets higher value battle points; the other player gets lower value battle points;
APs Difference / Battle points.
1301-1850 / 6/0
851-1300 / 5/1
401-850 / 4/2
0-400 / 3/3
Army Points (the points cost of the units in your army) are awarded for the following:
1. Full points are awarded for any destroyed unit.
2. Half points are given for any Character or Monster reduced to below half their starting number of wounds; a Squad reduced to below half their starting number; and Vehicles that are Immobilized.
2.2 The ‘Warm-Up’ period
Before every battle there is a ‘Warm-Up’ period between games
During this time you can:
Discuss the table and the terrain on it (what effect it will have on lines of sight, movement and the battle in general).
Clear up any potential rules problems that might occur during the game. Discuss special rules and conditions for victory that apply to the scenario. Ask questions about your opponent’s army and the special rules that apply to it. Swap army rosters. The Warm-Up period is included as an official part of the Tournament and we advise all contestants arrive in good time and make the most of it. It will prevent many unwanted debates during games and should help you and your opponent get off to a friendly start!
2.3 Interference
Only you and your opponent play the battles together. This means that friends and onlookers who finish their games early must not interfere or be involved in the game in any way.
Interfering with a battle that is not your own may be considered a yellow card offence and any interference should be reported to a referee.
2.4 Equal Number of turns
During the round we will announce the 30-minute mark. At this point you have 30 minutes left to finish your game. In the interest of fair play we strongly suggest that you only start a new turn after the 20-minute mark has been announced if you are both convinced that you can finish an entire game turn. If you can’t agree with your opponent you should call over a referee to make a decision.
2.5 Using an illegal army
Using an illegal army will result in your registered score for all rounds played changing to 0, regardless of the actual outcome of the battles. You will be required to amend your army to fit the tournament requirements before the next round.
2.6 Your result
We will display the scores registered for previous rounds. We recommend that you check these after each round and, should you find an error, report it to a Judges. We will either change it immediately or ask you to get your opponent from that round to agree on the change.
3 Scoring points
3.1 Game points: There are 100 points available from your games, up to 10 points for pre-submission and 5 points for painting, giving 115 tournament points as the potential total.
3.2 Yellow and Red Cards:
Sometimes we may need to penalize a participant for violating the rules or for inappropriate conduct during the Tournament.
Committing a yellow card offence – minus 5 points to you overall score per offence
Committing a red card offence – Disqualification
3.3: Ultimate Decisions:
The Judges’ decision on all matters is final (persistent arguments from a player may result in execution by a Commissar).
And Again…..
