The Gathering Club;
After the massive success of conclave 2013 and due to huge demand by gamers and hobbyists alike we are pleased to announce a restructuring of the Gaming Club and a Revamping which we feel will allow for a broader spectrum of games to be played and demo-ed in the shop, giving players a far greater choice and allowing them to choose not just what they play but when also. This will also allow for more casual gaming and is open to everyone.
We will be adopting a different model where by you can come in at any stage to make use of the clubs facilities. Both the Gathering Shop and the Gathering Club will be changing.
In the shop we will be running daily demo games open to anyone who wishes to participate and learn a new game, these will be free. There will also be the option to come in and paint and partake of painting classes these will cost 5 euro and be run daily.
For the club we will no longer have strict days for games, you can make use of the club at any stage of the open hours for 5 euro per person. This will allow for people to come in when it suits to play Wargames, Card Games, RPG's and board games. The old scheme of regular tournaments will be replaced and all tournaments will be run by the shop itself with a portion of the entrance fees going towards the club area. Tournaments will be run for a minimum of 8 people, this will mean very little change for games like Magic or Yu Gi Oh where the player pool already meets the requirements however for games like warhammer 40k or warmachine it will mean that Leagues will be run and you will simply show up on the day with your opponent pay your cost for use of the room and play your game. Days like Saturday will no longer be held by a game and will be open to any to play what they wish. An example for this in action will be our Thursday Night Mantic games night which will be a 5 euro entrance with Dreadball, Kings of War and Drop Zone being played. At any time you could decide to come as a group and play a baord game or an RPG. This change will also allow us to run larger one day tournaments, for example with the Mantic Night we are hoping to schedule a Dreadball tournament day on a Sunday where.
There will be specific club nights for games running from 6pm to 9pm, such as Wednesday night historical games and battletech, thursday night mantic games, friday night magic.
This also means if anyone requires or wants to learn some painting they can come in any day after 13:00 and be given a private lesson by a member of staff for 120 minutes which will be 5 euros except on Fridays which is 16:00-18:00 and is 5 euro also. This may be subject to change depending on demand, class size etc.
More to follow on the club changes,
